📌 This article answers the following questions:

- How do I add foreign languages (English, Spanish, German, etc.) to my Elloha website?

- How can I automatically translate my listings and descriptions using artificial intelligence?

- How many additional languages can I add depending on my subscription?

- How do I manually edit a translation generated by AI?

Why is this important?

Opening up your accommodation to the international market is a major driver of growth. A website available in several languages allows you to:

  • Reassure your international customers: they’re more likely to book if they fully understand your terms and conditions and property descriptions.

  • Improve your visibility: you’ll appear in search results in other languages.

  • Project a more professional image: a multilingual website demonstrates reliability and high-quality service.

Follow the step-by-step guide

Step 1: Access your website editor

To start customising your website, follow these steps:

  1. In the left-hand side menu, click on Website.

  2. Access the editing interface depending on your situation:

    • If your website is already active: click on the ‘Customise’ button at the top right of your screen.

    • If you’re creating your website: go to the ‘Choose a template’ tab and select the design of your choice.

💡 Tip: The customisation editor opens automatically once you’ve selected your template or clicked the customise button.

Step 2: Configure the language settings

To set up the languages for your site, follow these steps:

  1. In the editor, click the Settings icon (cogwheel) in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

  2. Check your site’s primary language.

By default, your site’s main language is set to French.

Step 3: Add foreign languages

To translate your website, do the following:

  1. In the ‘Foreign versions’ field, click ‘Add a language’.

  2. Select the languages you want from the options provided (English, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese).

  • Your subscription allows you to add up to 3 additional languages.

💡 Tip: English is the most widely used language in the tourism sector. Enabling it is essential to make it easier for international customers to view your schedule and rates.

Step 4: Confirm the language settings

This step allows you to activate the languages on your website so that your guests can browse in their native language.

1. Translate your business name and the name of your accommodation, either manually or using artificial intelligence. Click Save.

2. Click ‘Apply’ to confirm your settings.

❗️Important: Detailed content is not translated automatically. You will need to complete this manually during the next configuration steps.

Step 5: Access the translation of your content

To translate the descriptive text for your accommodation, follow these steps:

  1. In the side menu, click on My Business.

  2. Select the ‘My property’ section.

Step 6: Translate your content

To make your property accessible to your international guests, you can translate your text directly from the configuration interface.

  1. Click on the language button (set to French by default) above the text fields.

  2. Select ‘Add a translation’.

Choose the translation method:

  • AI-powered automatic: to generate text quickly (which can be edited later).

  • Manual: to write your own content.

Select the target language from the 10 languages available in your subscription.

Click ‘Start’ to save your changes.

💡 Tip: You can edit an AI-generated translation at any time to tailor it perfectly to the specifics of your accommodation.

Step 7: Translate your options

Translate your additional services to help your international customers understand your options and book with confidence.

  1. In the My Business menu, click on Options.

  2. Select the option you wish to edit.

  3. Enter your translations in the dedicated fields, using the same method as for your accommodation listing.

💡 Tip: Correctly translated options showcase your additional services and make the booking process easier for your international guests.

Key points

  • Target the right audience: Choose languages based on where your guests are actually from.

  • Be thorough: Don’t forget to translate your confirmation emails and your terms and conditions as well.

  • Use automation: Save valuable time with integrated translation whilst retaining control over the final quality.
