Why it’s important: In the age of AI, the listings that stand out are those that are ‘structured’ around a wealth of detailed information. Not only do they help your prospective customers get a clear picture of what you’re offering, But they also help search engines, which favour precise information when recommending one holiday rental over another. Furthermore, this information will be invaluable for displaying highly detailed content on your Basic website and your booking engine.
Step 1: Multiple tabs for maximum detail!
In the side menu (on the left), click on My activity,
then on ‘My accomodation’
Here you’ll find the ‘basic’ information you entered when you created your elloha account. This is where you can add to and/or edit this information using the various tabs:
General information: mainly commercial details, such as the age groups of the guests you accommodate, which may be subject to different rates,
Description: this section contains the description you wrote (with or without the help of AI) when creating your basic listing. You can edit it or add translations in other languages,
Media: here, you can add photos or videos to enhance your listing on your Basic website and/or your booking engine,
Rate Plans: in this tab, you can view at a glance all the pricing plans (standard rates, special offers, promotions, etc.) associated with your holiday rental,
Terms and Conditions: create and view your general terms and conditions (booking and cancellation policies, etc.) in several languages and access the various ‘historical’ versions of your terms and conditions (allowing you to keep track of them and monitor changes),
Rental agreements: in this tab, upload the PDF of your rental contract if you usually send one to your customers at the time of booking (this contract will be merged into a single PDF with your voucher or booking confirmation),
Expert Mode: this tab allows you to specify, for example, whether your bookings can be made instantly at any time, or whether you set restrictions on the booking engine (e.g. I don’t want the booking engine to accept bookings the day before for the following day from 6.00 pm onwards... as I won’t be on site to prepare the accommodation).
Step 2: ‘General’ tab
Trade name for your establishment: this is the name you entered when you created your account. You can change it here at any time, and this change will be reflected immediately on your Basic website, in your booking engine and on all documents (e.g. vouchers) generated via elloha,
Establishment category: If you were unsure when creating your account whether to choose “Holiday cottage” or “Holiday let”, this is where you can change this setting at any time,
Administrative classification: this information is for declaratory purposes and may be checked at any time by the regulatory authorities via your website or the documents issued from your elloha account; this means you must ensure it is highly accurate,
Type of accommodation: this information may be passed on to OTAs connected to elloha when you make your listings available to these partners,
Area: please state the total floor area of your holiday let, not just that of the sleeping areas,
Check-in and check-out: this information regarding your guests’ arrival and departure times will be displayed on your website and on documents (e.g. vouchers) issued via elloha,
Indicative prices: at this stage, you can specify whether your website will display a ‘from’ price that will always remain the same (for example: €100) or whether you would like your lowest price to update automatically based on the lowest price for your stays (per night or per week) as set in your calendar and booking engine.
❗️ Important: The “I display a ‘from’ price” option applies only to elloha websites. On your booking engine, the price displayed is dynamic and corresponds to the lowest available price based on the dates searched for by the customer.
Display example:
Baby & Children's prices: this section allows you not only to specify the different age groups accepted at your holiday let but, more importantly, to create ‘per person’ rates in your pricing plans based on the age group of your guests (see below):
Languages spoken within your establishment: this information will only be published on your website, your booking engine and your documents (vouchers) published via elloha,
Quality labels: This information will be included in your elloha booking engine, your Basic website and your documents published via elloha. The list depends on the country in which you are based,
Payment methods accepted on site: as the name suggests, this list only covers the payment methods you accept at your holiday rental whilst the guest is staying with you (card payment terminal, cash, etc.). It is important not to confuse this information with the payment methods accepted on your website and your booking engine, which may be more limited or different from those offered (in person) on site,
Other information: see below for details on accessibility for people with disabilities (indicating a ‘Tourisme Handicap’ label, applicable only in France, is your sole responsibility); information on group bookings is published on your website and in your documentation, as is information on pets.
Social media: these links will be published on your Basic website. If you wish your customers to be redirected to them accurately, it is essential to adhere to the URL format required by each platform to ensure your customers are redirected correctly.
Examples of required formats:
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/exemple
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/exemple
X (Twitter): https://x.com/exemple
LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/exemple
TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@example
Step 2: Your address and location
When it comes to tourism, showing exactly where you are is essential for guiding your future customers as effectively as possible, especially if your holiday rental is in a remote area.
The address displayed in the General tab is the one you entered when you created your elloha account: you can edit it here or add useful details such as GPS coordinates (see below),
You can add important details such as the “local place name”, for example, which isn’t always listed on Google,
If you want to provide even greater precision, click on ‘Enter your geographical coordinates’ to specify your latitude and longitude. Once saved (using the ‘Save’ button at the top right of your page), your location pin will move to a new position on the map,
Step 3: Your logo and contact details
Your logo will appear on your website, your booking engine and in documents issued via your elloha account (quotes, vouchers, invoices, etc.). Please ensure you upload the logo in the highest quality so that it displays correctly on all these platforms,
Your contact details are published on your platforms (see above) according to your preferences (you may choose not to publish them). However, by displaying quick contact options, you can provide a valuable service to your customers, enabling them to contact you more quickly.
Step 4: ‘Description’ tab
Your description is a key element of your online sales strategy: the more comprehensive and inspiring it is, the more it will help you attract the interest of your future customers.
Write your own description of your accommodation and its surroundings, or make use of our “AI, write for me!” feature
☕️ Let the AI write it for you!
Sit back, click on “AI, write for me!” and discover (thanks to a custom prompt developed by the elloha team) a bespoke description of your holiday rental. Do you like it but want to tweak it slightly or add to it? No problem: simply place your mouse in the text input field and make your changes. Would you like to add one or more foreign-language versions of this text? That’s no problem either. You can do this later, either manually or automatically, by clicking here.
Finally, don’t forget that you can translate the content you’ve finally chosen into several languages: read the article.
Complete the description of your amenities and facilities
Once you’ve written your listing, make sure to complete your description by ticking the comfort features and facilities available in your holiday rental: these will be displayed immediately on your booking engine (as icons and images) as well as in all documents (such as vouchers) published via your elloha account.
Important: the description of the beds and bedding in your holiday rental (detailed by bed type) will be used to calculate the maximum capacity of your holiday rental in the booking engine.
As you can see above, as you add your comfort features, your preview updates (on the right-hand side of the screen) to show you exactly what your customers will see on your website and in your booking engine.
Step 5: Media
This tab is one of the most important, as study after study has shown that the more photos you publish of your holiday let, the greater your chances of securing a booking!
Click on ‘Add media’,
import one (or more) media files by uploading a file or entering a photo’s URL,
Add a caption to each photo to improve the search engine optimisation of your images and, consequently, your Basic website.
Tips: We recommend uploading between 15 and 20 photos (using the quick bulk import function), with the following specifications:
Dimensions: at least 1600 × 1200 pixels,
Orientation: landscape,
Recommended formats: jpeg, png, heic.
If you need to convert from one format to another, feel free to use this free tool provided by Canva.
Maximum file size: 6 MB.

Step 6: Your Pricing Plans
In this tab, you’ll find all the Pricing Plans (see how it works) associated with your holiday rental:
The name of each of your plans,
The type: Standard, Special Offer or Promotion,
Any associated discounts,
The associated terms and conditions,
The board basis: half-board, full board, etc.
The payment method: postpaid or prepaid
This view allows you to see, at a glance, all the different rate types associated with your holiday rental. You can create and edit them in the ‘Rate Plans’ menu by following this step-by-step guide.
Step 7 – Terms and Conditions
In your elloha account, you can draft successive sets of general terms and conditions of sale, as each version is stored in your history, enabling you to ensure you are in line with the terms and conditions accepted by your customer at any given time.
Example: it’s now July, but your terms and conditions changed in May. A customer booked in January. In the event of a dispute, you’ll be able to refer to the terms and conditions that they actually accepted.
To find out everything you need to know about managing your general terms and conditions of sale, click here.
Step 8 – Rental agreement
Although it isn’t always necessary to send a rental agreement, you can always send it to the customer at the same time as the booking confirmation voucher.
📌 Good to know: Please note that the validation of this contract is not managed by elloha. We recommend that you check for yourself that the customer has returned it to you signed, or that they hand it to you on arrival. However, the most effective way is to ask them to sign it electronically before their arrival using solutions such as YouSign or DocuSign.
Step 9 – Expert Mode
This tab allows you to process your holiday rental booking only via a more complex process than the instant booking option.
It allows you, for example, for personal organisational reasons (you are personally responsible for handing over the keys, but you live a long way from the property being let) to refuse last-minute bookings (e.g. from 6.00 pm the day before).
It is in this tab that you can set up all these restrictions.
