Why is this important?
The gift market presents a major opportunity for holiday accommodation owners. On average, this feature can generate up to €35,000 in additional turnover per year. It’s the ideal way to:
Increase your direct sales, commission-free.
Improve your immediate cash flow.
Introduce your property to new travellers through word of mouth.
What your customers will see
A dedicated, clear and attractive page on your booking engine: your guests choose their gift voucher, personalise it and send it in just a few clicks!
Follow the step-by-step guide
Check out the interactive tutorial below for a quick introduction, then refer to the detailed, illustrated explanations to explore each step in more depth.
Step 1: Access the gift voucher management section
Go to the dedicated section to set up and manage your gift voucher offers.
In the left-hand side menu of your elloha account, click on My Activity.
Select the ‘Gift Vouchers’ section.
From this page, you can manage your entire gift voucher scheme:
View your existing gift vouchers.
Edit these gift vouchers.
Track your sales and view order details.
Step 2: Create your gift voucher
Click on ‘Add a gift voucher’ in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
Fill in the required fields to set up and promote your offer:
Name: Enter a clear title so your customers can identify the offer straight away.
Amount and Number of redemptions: Set the face value of the voucher and the total number of units available for sale.
Description: Specify the terms of use or the type of experience offered at your accommodation.
Validity period: Specify the period after purchase during which the voucher can be redeemed by your customers.
Image: Add an image to illustrate your gift voucher on your booking engine.
You can choose one of the suggested images or upload your own to personalise your offer.
Any images you upload are automatically saved to your media library. This makes it easy to find them again and reuse them for other content.
A detailed description and a high-quality image help your customers better understand the value of your offer.
Step 3: Configure the publication
From the Publication tab, set the terms for publishing and the visibility of your gift voucher:
Publication period: set the exact dates during which the gift voucher is available for purchase.
💡 Tip: Tailor the visibility of your gift vouchers
To optimise the marketing of your gift vouchers, adjust their publication to suit your business calendar:
Activate your special offers during key times of the year (the festive season, Valentine’s Day, etc.).
Distribution channels: specify the channels (your website, your social media) on which the gift voucher will be visible.
Booking link: copy the direct URL to send it to your customers via email or messaging.
QR code: download this image to include it on your physical (flyers, posters) or digital marketing materials.
💡 Tip: include the QR code in your welcome booklets to encourage your existing guests to treat their loved ones to a stay at your accommodation.
Step 4: Check how your gift voucher looks
Use the preview function to check how your offer looks across all platforms before making it available to your customers.
Booking engine: view the final result as it will appear during the booking process.
Confirmation email: check the information sent automatically to the purchaser.
PDF format: check the document received by the gift card recipient.
Social media: preview how it will look when shared on Facebook or Instagram.
Step 5: Save and publish your gift voucher
Once you’ve finished setting up your offer, follow these steps to publish it online:
Click Save to save all your entries.
Click the ‘Publish’ button to make the gift voucher immediately available for sale on your booking engine.
⚠️ Please note: Until you click ‘Publish’, the offer remains invisible to your customers, even if it has been saved.
You can check this by looking for the ‘Published’ or ‘Draft’ label to the right of the gift voucher’s name.
Step 6: Track your gift voucher sales
View the details of transactions relating to your gift vouchers to keep a close track of your business:
Go to the ‘Ordered by’ tab to access the full list of gift vouchers sold.
View all orders placed by your customers.
Check the status to see if the gift voucher has already been used.
Track changes in your sales volumes in real time.
In just a few minutes, you can benefit from an additional source of income. You also have the option to expand your offering by introducing gift cards.
