📌 This article answers the following questions:
- How do I set a minimum or maximum number of nights for my elloha bookings?
- How do I apply minimum and maximum stay requirements to a season or custom dates?
- How do I adjust the length of stay on a day-by-day basis from the Schedule Details view?
- Why is it recommended to set a minimum stay during peak season?
Why is this important?
Setting a minimum or maximum stay (min. stay or max. stay) is a powerful tool for maximising the profitability of your holiday let:
Increased profitability: By imposing a minimum stay (e.g. 2 or 3 nights), you reduce your cleaning and laundry costs compared to single-night bookings.
Optimised booking calendar: You avoid single-night ‘gaps’ in your calendar, which are often impossible to fill at short notice.
Ease of management: You can adapt the rules according to seasonal demand (e.g. a minimum stay of 7 nights only in summer).
Follow the step-by-step guide
Step 1: Access the Schedule
In the menu on the left-hand side of your screen, click on ‘Calendar’.
You’ll be taken to the overview of your availability and rates, where you can carry out various quick actions.
From this interface, you can manage your entire calendar: your availability, your rates, your sales channels and your various pricing plans.
Step 2: Access the stay duration settings
To configure the booking conditions on your calendar:
In the top right-hand corner of your Schedule, click on the Actions button.
From the drop-down list, select Min. & Max. Stay.
This screen allows you to set the minimum and maximum number of nights for each period of the year to optimise occupancy at your property.
Step 3: Set your minimum and maximum stay durations
This option allows you to set time restrictions on bookings linked to your pricing plans:
Minimum duration: set a minimum number of nights required to confirm a booking.
Maximum length: set an upper limit on the length of a stay.
Adjust these settings according to your calendar to optimise your accommodation’s occupancy, for example by requiring a minimum number of nights during the high season.
💡 Tip: During the long weekends in May or local events, don’t hesitate to increase your minimum stay to 3 nights to ensure your holiday home is fully booked.
Step 4: Set the applicable period
Select the date range to which you wish to apply your changes.
Several shortcuts are available to set up your schedule quickly:
Today or Tomorrow
This week or This month
A whole season
Custom dates
Using these predefined periods allows you to update everything in one go, without having to do it manually day after day.
Once you’ve set your parameters, finalise the update to your calendar.
Click the Apply button.
Step 5: Adjust your stay durations manually
To fine-tune your settings for specific dates, use the detailed view of your schedule:
Go to the Schedule menu.
Select the Detail view.
Expand the row for the relevant service.
Directly edit the minimum or maximum length of stay for the day and rate plan of your choice.
By adjusting your stay rules according to different periods, you retain control over your schedule whilst improving your occupancy rate. It’s a simple yet effective way to avoid gaps in your calendar and adapt your strategy to match demand.
You now know how to add and adjust your minimum and maximum stay durations with ease.
